The Wild Turkey
The Cherokee Chapter of the NWTF is dedicated to the conservation of the wild turkey and to the preservation of our hunting heritage.
Widely renown for its fervent commitment to improve wildlife habitat on public lands such as state and national forests, the Cherokee Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation would like to encourage you to partner with us as we invest our lives in conservation efforts for future generations. Conservation & Education
The Cherokee Chapter of the NWTF is about more than pursuing the wild turkey in the spring woods. It's about giving back...it's about educating our kids to be responsible and safe in the outdoors...it's about helping kids develop that passion for conservation that they will ultimately pass on to another generation.
The NWTF started the JAKES (Juniors Acquiring Knowledge, Ethics and Sportsmanship) program as a way to give youth up to 12 years old the chance to explore the outdoors through hundreds of fun activities.
For those teenagers from 13 - 17 years old, Xtreme JAKES provides opportunities, challenges & experiences more in line with their abilities.
Our nation is the greatest country in the history of the world largely due to the sacrifices of our soldiers. While we may never know what they had to endure, nor will we ever experience the pain and loss that many of them felt, we proudly honor and hold them in great esteem.
